fight club

The day started out as everyday does.
5:30am and NOT wanting to get up at all!!!
Little did i know, kelly and kenton were going to have a mini fight today at work!
thats right everyone, yours eyes dont deceive you. kelly duthie actually had a fight! which pretty much makes it one more than ALL of the lambda boys have had! nice work kel :)

"kelly through the first punch" said our correspondent thomas mcmulkin, who was the only other witness to the actual incident!
"They had an argument in the truck as we were pulling up to the place we were working, and things pretty much went down hill from there".
So how did this work brawl come about in the first place you may ask? well there is an answer and a simple one! but to tell you more about why tempers were raised, which lead to the instant and exciting yet amateur fight the two youngsters had, we will have to go back a year or so. Back to when kelly first meet the kenton (or what thomas likes to call him "k-rudd")

The story which was going to be an infinity of pages long, basically says that kelly disliked k-rudd for a while!
So a few snippets like "I'v been wanting to do that for so long" and "I'm over it" from before and after the smish might emphasis the electric relationship the two involved had!

the fight which im not going into much detail over the rather insecure internet was fairly scrapy with only a handful of punches thrown from each of the competitors and ample wrestling involved!
but after what thomas, our on the scene correspondent, would call a 2 minute no rules footy match, the fight brock up and a mutual agreement was struck between the two, as tom was giving them BOTH a lift home from bunbury!

for more details please go to www.17jensenway.com.au or www.somewhereincapel.com.au where u will find a recount of most of the fight available at request!

thank you and goodnight!

The Troy and Gabriella show!

HSM3:SY

first off the bat, i MUST say, I'M A BIG FAN ALREADY! ha ha
loved it, it had the feel of the high school musical franchise that we all love, and they certainly created a sense of this really being the last movie in the trilogy! good stuff Kenny Ortega (director)

OK down to business!
troy = heart throb, if i wasn't gay, he would be all mine, after brad Pitt of course, and heath ledger.
Gabriella = a big girl, who is a Riga-dig-dig, with a big voice!
chad = black, and shit at basketball, its very cliche' with the stereotype but still Troy's best bud!
Taylor = like everyone of the cast except maybe Ryan, she and chad and Kelsi and Zeke and Jason and Sharpay all had layed-back roles and were there more to fill in the dance floor and offer opinions.
ryan = pretty much my second favourite dude on the film, wears some sick clothing and is the choreographer for the "spring musical" of theirs!
Sharpay = surprisingly gave up on troy in this movie, although she never did get over never sharing the spotlight with him on stage, is may hotter in this movie, and just like everyone else, got older and better at acting as they went through 1 & 2, to finish as pro's in #3.
Kelsi = my favourite chick character, heaps babed out! and the coolest band person you will ever meet / see on screen :D
Jason and Zeke = not in the movie much, its more the troy and Gabriella show as i said, but that's OK cause they do it good! as you already may have found out!
Rocketman and Sharpay's assistant = new characters added the sense that these people were being left in charge of the school as the seniors moved on to bigger and better things! Rocketman is funny, and the assistant is in the mold of Sharpay in her earlier years, conspiring and what-not.

Songs = great, little bit of everything, some sad ones, some funny ones, some serious ones and some fucking awesome ones! great to listen to and get involved in while watching (cannot wait to learn the lyrics)

Music = a little too loud in some songs, as you were trying to listen to the characters lyrics which were being drowned out by guitar riffs and drums. its a little hard to catch the meanings of the songs and where they r taking you if ya cant hear troy scream about how hard he has it, and about how hard Gabriella thinks Troy's penis is :D

Dancing = as always, new, exciting and inventive choreography, with some hints of HSM 1 & 2 to make sure you know where they r coming from. this time round they went for the BIG, BIGGER, BIGGEST scenes possible, to great affect, to make sure the audience isn't disappointed when they leave the cinema!

Storyline = unexpected, which leaves you thinking "where is this taking me?" and "whats gonna happen next?". its always nice to see a film that isn't predictable to the last scene! they really emphasis the "senior year" part of High School Musical 3.

last of all my rating
High School Musical 3: Senior Year rated - 3.5/5

Brock is right they did make some bits way to corny, but in other ways it was a nice change.

"so once they hand us that diploma, we're actually done here!?"

High School Musical 3: Senior Year

On sunday i went and saw HSM3 with Karen and Night Hawk, and kelly and morgan were there too.
I have to say, that cos im a fan, i was totally into it the whole time and had a massive smile on my face throughtout the whole thing.
but from a critical point of view i dont think it shaped up too the previous too films.
First of all, and one of the most annoying things was the fact that during every song, the music was actually louder than the singing. this meant it was hard to understand some of the lyrics, but whether this was just because it was in the cinema or cos it was badly made, will be hard to tell until it comes out on dvd(which i will be buying).
i was also annoyed because i think it lost some of its quirkiness and edginess, although this was covered up by the introduction of a new character, who thought he was the second coming of Troy Bolton. This character did have his moments, but made me think that he was just introduced for the chance to cash in on a possible spin-off, or another sequel. In the second high school musical, new characters were not introduced, but the the roles of backup characters were increased. i wish this was the case for HSM3, because there are a few (like Zeke, Kelsy and Jason) that could have played a larger role.
i also believe that HSM3 grew to an all time level of cheesiness. It surprised me how someone could make a movie about teenage issues, and stick a G rating to. Though the director does his best to make it happen, i still feel that not many people would be able to relate to the issues involved. Kids that the film is normally targeted at would not get the whole college thing, especially ones from Australia. And teenagers who understand the whole going to college thing would probably feel that a whole lot of stuff is missed out.
i think the HSM franchise should have ended at the end of school, and just glazed over the college scenario.
It also annoyed me(though i doubt anyone else) that it is clear that Corbin Bleau is the biggest kook at basketball ever. his character is meant to be recieving a scholarship at UA to play ball, yet you see his character make a layup in one of the final scenes and it is blatantly obvious that he has never picked up a ball in his life, before HSM.

But besides all this, the few minor things i disliked were greatly outweighed by the things i did like.
many of the songs were catchy (ask tom who started singing one in the middle of the cinema after knowing it from the preview) and the dance routines were spectacular as usual.

there was even one song, that sharpay was singing, where the characters were all in a hypothetical stage world where Troy was a love-sick sharpay fan, Chad a policeman and Kelsy a taxi driver. This was one of the highlights of all 3 movies, and was really cleverly put together.

It will be hard to tell if this HSM will live up to the others, because it is the sort of movie that you enjoy more once you know the songs well enough too sing to.

Hopefully its out on DVD by christmas!

007

Ok i saw the new James Bond movie last night, Quantum of solace, and i have to say.
it was awesome!
such an epic James Bond movie, full of action, drama, Olga Kurylenko and of course jimmy.B.
starts out with the signature james bond opener, the chasing scene (in car and on foot this time) which is pretty spectacular, even for an action film.
i mean this movie, action-wise and acting-wise fucking shit all over 'the Jason Bourne series'. i dont know how Brock even came to that conclusion.

As electrifying as any J.B. movie is with Daniel Craig taking the lead i must admit, that i was a little disappointed with 'Q.o.S.' For one reason only, i love jimmy kicking peoples ass in poker! but other than that, he used his wit, his strength and prowess as a super British agent from m6 to his advantage at every stage of the movie, you will be amazed at how often he misses death by an inch! literally! he is always THIS close to being shot, captured, flung off 5 story buildings or blown up that you wonder if Daniel Craig is actually alive still.

i rate this movie this movie up there with all the classic James Bonds of its time and ahead of 'Casino Royal'!

Quantum of Solace

Today i went and seen Quantum of solace.
it is pretty much what i expected after reading the review in the STM.
it wsnt nearly as good as Casino Royal. i thought that they just packed in as much action as they could. there were car chases, boat chases, motorbike chases, foot chases, swinging rope chases, and even he even gets chased flying a plane.
Everybody says daniel craig is a good Bond but i think his character is way too cold. he kills everyone, you pretty much look at him and your dead. he always ice's people and is actually kinda too cold.

all in all though it was alright, but i wouldnt rate it antwhere near as good as the bourne trilogy.

villains

top ten bad guy(aka villains)

1- the joker (heath ledgers performance is beyond anything iv ever seen in a blockbuster movie like the dark knight, it will be a master piece of acting for all eternity)
2- Darth Vader (he is black, with a big red light saber-which is pretty much the gangsta version of a 9mm- who else would be number 2?)
3- Megatron (this is one power hungry robotic organism guys, stay away from his "big shot" and his also his toenail for that matter because it could probably crush you like a bug.
4- predator (this alien is a master killer, stealthy, quick, strong and a fucking struggle to look at when he doesn't have his mask on!)
5- Magneto (this dude knows how to work metal, i wouldn't mess with him on a large scale metal sculpture competition, i mean did u see what he did 2 the l.a. bridge in xmen-3?)
6- shooter mcGavin ("hey i eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast!"..."you eat pieces of shit for breakfast?!?!")
7- gollum (once a hobbit, but now is a freakish little ring-obsessed bastard of a creature, watch out frodo.)
8- Dr. evil (he had a flipping huge "laser" and jokes to go with that ugly mug of mike's)
9- Lex Luther (Kevin spacey's new invention of this character does well, and is better then gene hackman's account in the old superman series')
10- wicked witch of the west (this woman pretty much makes "Alice in wonderland's" queen look like a little kitten, i think the wizard of oz should be like R-rated after this woman played the part, nearly gave me nightmares.)

well that's them, i hope, there are more but i suppose you can think of them for me, for instance the silver surfer didn't get in because basically he is made of silver! whoop Dee do.

4- batman (if anyone is foolish enough to say they don't want to wear the cape and ride in his bat Mobile, they are fucking faggots)
5- ironman (i wasn't really into him before Robert downey jr. played him but now he is the coolest rich guy round)
6- flash (best looking red jump suit freak of nature ever, he runs around faster then Alex can come, and thts fast!!!)
7- spiderman (his webs and lack of hot chicks got a bit boring after a while)

Top Ten Sports Movies

I thought it was about time i did a post. but i havent been to the movies lately so i have nothing to blog about.
i did get out some movies the other day that (embarrasingly) i hadnt seen before.
knocked up and superbad.
i thought knocked up was hell funny. specially when he's dancing and he totally overuses the 'roll the dice move'.
but i actually thought superbad was overrated.
i have figured out though that maybe i only thought that it was overrated cos i dont really like jonah hill. hes pretty annoying sometimes.
and sometimes i think seth rogen copies some of his acting off will ferrel but hes still pretty good.

anyway,

Harry potter

Now as we all know Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is going to be sick BUT wait until you see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

I have found out something absolutely mind blowing. Apparently they wanted to make the last book really good, and not miss out any of the details that some of the other movies have done. Which isn't really anyone's fault as filming a novel of any kind get great chunks and pieces of storyline thrown out. Well I'm not sure who's decision it was to do this, maybe J.K. Rowling's' or the directors (David Yates) but they are planning on making Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in, wait for it.......................................TWO PARTS.

therefore:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part I (release date: 2010)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part II (release date: 2011)

So if they don't screw this up it may just turn out to be the smartest move any of the three directors, who have filmed the Harry Potter phenomenon, have ever done.

Fingers crossed mother fuckers!

Dale and Saul

OK everyone, saw the movie everyone, "Pineapple Express" rocks, not that i need to explain why it is good seeing as Seth Rogen (aka Dale), James Franco (aka Saul) and Danny R. McBride (aka Red) are all hit actors and play their characters to perfection.

Hilarious scenes and conversations make this the comedy that everyone was expecting.
Stunts, guns and a lot of fighting (some of the bitch fights between the main cast make this the movie it is) create a cool new movie genre to go with comedy, i mean this isn't drama its full on action with cool gore and a whole heap of violence!
The continued one-liners in all comedies are some of the funniest you have heard since "Superbad" and "Anchorman: The legend of Ron Burgundy" and to tip off the ice the movie isn't short or too long and has more than enough gags and funny scenarios in it to make sure you don't get bored. Although i may not have laughed OUT LOUD as much in "Pineapple Express" as i did in "Step Brothers" i think this movie offers more to the audience than 40 year old teenagers being pussy's and getting beaten up by year 6 kids. I mean Dale and Saul fight real mean, with sweet shotguns, semi automatics, hand guns and other such weapons like the Kalashnikov.

James Franco's performance in this movie has renewed my faith in him as an actor who gives the funniest depiction of a laze-about drug dealer. Also there is a really HOT chick in this movie (Amber Heard aka Angie) who is going out with Dale, they hook up in the first 15 minutes of the movie or something. So get geared up for that boys and girls, Dingo in particular.

Just to be warned people the start of the film is a bit weird, funny and sometimes lame, but you will just have to wait and see what i mean. It is relevant to the movie but you don't know that until later in the movie. If you think you have seen all the best best in the trailers people, YOUR WRONG!

I guarantee this movie to all those who need a good laugh about stoners taking on stuff over the heads, but step up to the job magnificently and with a bit of luck turn into the baddest stoners armed with guns this generations has seen yet.

THE SPIRIT

Frank miller's new film "The Spirit" is due to be released on the 8Th of January 2009 (new Zealand) i don't know about Australia yet.
This new graphic novel Action/ drama follows the case of a Rookie cop.
cast:
Gabriel Macht
Scarlett Johansson
Samuel L. Jackson
Eva Mendes
Jaime King

plot:
Down these mean streets a man must come. A hero born, murdered, and born again. When a Rookie cop named Denny Colt returns from the beyond as The Spirit, a hero whose mission is to fight against the bad forces from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face who has other plans. He's going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this cold hearted killer from the city's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader. Written by Anthony Pereyra.

"Sin City 2"
Those who have been waiting for Jessica Alba's return from motherhood and back into the character of sexy Nancy Callahan. Wait no longer. In 2010 this film will be released with all our favourites.
Including: Jessica Alba (obviously)
Rosario Dawson
Mickey Rourke (rumoured)
Rose McGowan (rumored)
Clive Owen
Jaime King
Antonio Banderas (rumoured)
Brittany Murphy
Michael Clarke Duncan
Devon Aoki
Michael Madsen
Danny Trejo and
Powers Boothe

Also I'm proud to announce the Sequel to "300" will be released in 2010 as well, so Frank Miller is going to be a busy man in the years to come, and to make things even more HECTIC he has announced the making of "Sin City 3" to be released some time in 2011.

And that's not even the best part about there being another "Sin City", to all those Johnny Depp fans out there! HE, the man himself has been rumored to star as the main character and ex-NAVY SEAL who saves a young woman from killing herself. The characters name is Wallace but the graphic novel is still in production and we may have a different actor starring our main man Wallace by the time judgment day comes.

But all bullshit aside i can tell everyone that I'm going to be looking forward to seeing "The Spirit" just as much as anyone who enjoys Frank Millers brilliant work!

Max Payne

"Max Payne"

I went to the movies today with brother mulks and watched this new cinema release starring Mark Wahlberg and the lovely mila kunis from "that 70's show". Other stars include Ludacris, Amaury Nolasco (from prison break and Transformers) and model Olga Kurylenko.

This movie set in the US is based upon Max Payne's life as a detective in the cold case unit, a devoted section of the police department that targets homicides that have not been solved. Only a year or so previous Max's wife and infant son was murdered by three drug-addicted cronies. The third escaped and Max has been looking for him, stopping at nothing as he tracks down other thief's and thugs to fulfill his bloody vendetta and to avenge his lost loved ones.

Demon's, angel's, heaven and hell. Guns blaze, explosions light the screen and many dark and scary scenes bring this movie into a genre based thriller/action flick.

The camera work is brilliant and could make any arthouse director jealous, many motif's are just as artistic as "Fargo" and I'm sure that the people who brought you "Star Wars" would love the special effects in this movie just as much as i did.

All around a fun movie to watch which had me jumping in my seat every now and then for the sheer suddenness and violent confrontations between Max and those who stand in his way.
Sexy girls, guns and some good directing make this movie very enjoyable.
The only bad thing i could say about this movie is that the plot isn't that unpredictable, but you sit in your seat to watch the end as Mark Wahlberg kicks some ass!

"I don't know about heaven, but i believe in angel's"

"Max Payne" Rated- 3.5/5

EAGLE EYE

OK my first comment about the new release movie "Eagle Eye" is:
if you absolutely love action films (excuse my french) you will fucking love "Eagle Eye" starring Shia Lebouf and Michelle Monaghan (who is by far one of the hottest milfs in movies today. So if your a guy and are deciding to go 2 the movies then go see this!)

The movie has a similar story line to the I-Robot (Artificial.Intelligence.) idea starring Will Smith but offers a wilder trip through the movie then the 2004 blockbuster. The US government recently built a super computer to track terrorist actions throughout the world. However the computer, with extensive knowledge and data at hand decides that the only way to protect the future of the United States and the world from tyranny, is to kill the President of the United States and many of his closest advisers to bring the countries affairs back into order.

"Eagle Eye" set in today's time instead of the "I-Robot's" futuristic civilisation creates a wide sense that every movement you make, every thing you do within range of electric gadgetry is track able, and therefore CONTROLLABLE...

i highly rate this movie and am expecting everyone else to say the same.

"The FBI will arrive at your apartment in 30 seconds! YOU MUST FLEE THE PREMISES!! fail to comply! and you will die"

"Eagle Eye" rated -5/5

Zach and Miri make a porno

Well people, if ya havnt heard yet, Seth Rogen has been a busy man this last year, "Zach and Miri make a porno" is Seth's seventh film in the last 12 months. Featuring 'Superbad's" super cop and "Knocked up's" funny stoner guy Rogen is back at it with a friend of his Elizabeth Banks who as you may know also starred in 4o year old virgin with Rogen, she also played a lead role in "Scrubs" as Kim. Up until now comedy's usually satisfied there audiences with a lot of humour and light sex scenes but now Rogen and Banks take it to another level with their movie "Zach and Miri make a porno". With their lives going down the drain, along with their money to pay the rent Zach and Miri are desperate to make bank, therefor they turn to alternate ways of creating some profit. Zach always loved porno spoofs of other movies, and before you know it they are making a porno spoof of Star Wars.

Set to be as funny as all of Rogens past films im looking forward to "Zach and miri make a porno" which should be showing in cinema's late october to early november.

sin city sequel!

Thats right everyone, there is to be a sin city sequel, with a return featurette starring Jessica Alba, and is to be released next year some time.

Robert Rodriguez's original "Sin City" wasnt enough for me, and obviously not for all the other fans out there, so he is out to bring back more of the hot girls and explosive action that he is known for in recent films including "Planet Terror". With im sure another guest director appearance from his best mate Quentin Tarrantino "Sin City 2" (or whatever it will be called") will also be something to look forward to in 2009.

Heath Ledger and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

Heath Ledger said while on the set of "The Dark Knight" that playing the character The Joker was the most enjoyable experience in his career so far and in an enormous offering of love and respect Jude Law, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrel offered their salary from "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" in which all procedes would go to Heaths daughter Matilda Rose Ledger.

Full synopsis of "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus"

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is a fantastical morality tale, set in the present day. It tells the story of Dr Parnassus and his extraordinary 'Imaginarium', a travelling show where members of the audience get an irresistible opportunity to choose between light and joy or darkness and gloom. Blessed with the extraordinary gift of guiding the imaginations of others, Dr Parnassus is cursed with a dark secret. Long ago he made a bet with the devil, Mr Nick, in which he won immortality. Many centuries later, on meeting his one true love, Dr Parnassus made another deal with the devil, trading his immortality for youth, on condition that when his first-born reached its 16Th birthday he or she would become the property of Mr Nick. Valentina is now rapidly approaching this 'coming of age' milestone and Dr Parnassus is desperate to protect her from her impending fate. Heath Ledger's final film was only half way when he was found dead from an accidental drug overdose. Jude Law, Colin Farrel and Johnny Depp stepped in to finish off the rest of Heaths work and with digital technology director Terry Gilliam is "delighted that Heath's brilliant performance can be shared with the world."

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is back on schedule and is due to release late 2009 or early 2010. Heath Ledger died at 28.

up and coming movies!

ok so there are a few good movies about to be released in cinema's
including:
  • James Bond: Quantum of Solace (nov 7) feat. Sam Craig
  • Eagle Eye (sep 26) feat. Shia Lebouf
  • The House Bunny feat. Anna Faris
  • Traitor feat. Don Cheadle
  • Death race feat. Jason Statham
  • Body of lies (oct 10) feat. Leonardo Dicaprio & Russel Crowe
  • saw v (oct 24)
  • pineapple express (oct 16) feat. Seth rogen & James Franco
probably the movie im looking forward to the most out of all of these is:
PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, i saw the trailor to this bad boy when i watched WALL-E yesterday and the makers of "40 year old virgin", "superbad" and "knocked up" are at it again, producing with hilarious acting, spills, thrills and kills what is to be another breath gasping experience. As pothead Dale Denton (Seth Rogen) and Saul Silver (James Franco) get into shit deeper than they can handle, scenes flash buy with action, comedy and one liners to match "SuperBad". All the while, explosions, amazing stunts and car chases through busy freeways keep the audiences attention front and centre. All up i believe this movie will create a sense of where James Franco's acting career is heading, other than being re-born as the Green Goblin's son in Spiderman 4 and what is still to come in a long list of comedies produced by the one and only Seth Rogen.

All of these movies will im sure keep us coming back again and again to the cinema's and will make our wait for "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" AND "Watchmen" so much the easier.

F,F & F

Welcome friends and foe's to the newly instated, the one and only, movie blog "Flicks,Facts and Fuck off". Where Dragon (the infamous Brock Monck) and myself (Night Hawk aka Thomas Mcmulkin) will happily update you on newly released and up coming films, movies, TV shows and other INTERESTING stuff to make your blog visit as enjoyable as possible. To kick start our new blog dragon and i would like to inform you about two recent cinema releases that are sure to have you buzzing!
Today Calum, Dragon and myself took full advantage of our lower limbs and wallets to make our way to the prestigious and rather large and cosy HOYTS cinema in Riccarton Mall, Christchurch. We indulged our sweet tooth and eager movie-going personalities while we kicked back and watched one of two movies for the day.

warning: i like talking about movies so if ya dont wanna know what happens, read on ^_^

FIRST!
The highly rated "Step Brothers" starring Will Ferrel and John.C Reilly proved all its worth by producing one of the funniest cinematic experiences since the ostentatious "Anchorman". The quirky storyline and funny duo pulled off some amazing scenes were nearly always the audience are left staggering for breath. I'm starting to sound like a real movie critic, but seriously, aside from having a longer than expected running time and short veer in the storyline, it all comes together nicely to be enormously amusing and i recommend it to anyone that liked "Anchorman"and "Talladega Nights" to see it immediately!
I'm not going to give anything away but whatever you saw in the trailers was definitely just the tip of the ice burg as Ferrel and Reilly ride life on the wild side and of course their newly wedded mum and dad's shoulders.

"Step Brothers" rated 4.5/5

SECOND!
A new PIXAR revolution was released this month, in the form of a rubbish disposal robot named "WALL-E". You are going to love every single minute you watch this movie, as a matter of fact the short featurette will have you on the edge of your seats and is just a sneak peak at how corny and inventive the PIXAR team have become. Alone on planet earth our robotis friend gets up to mischief among the reminents of civilisation where he saves seamingly useless junk and builds enourmous skyscrapers out of compacted heaps of trash!
Just when he thinks his days couldnt get anymore lonelier a spaceship arrives from beyond earths thick layer of satelites and brings to WALL-E a highly advanced green thumb of a robot "Eve".
His lust for friendship and purpose in life WALL-E is driven away from planet earth to persue the only friend he ever had (apart from a cockroach) where he explores the deep masses of space and leads earths survivors back home.

"WALL-E" rated 5/5

I hope you enjoyed my view on these two movies and im sure dragons own personal views are just as interesting.

"hi"
"hey, im Brennan"
"my names Dale, but you can call me Dragon!"
"well you can call me, Night Hawk!"

WALL E

WALL E was a movie that i did go into with high expectations.
i read a lot about it as it seemed a lot different to all the other great pixar movies over the years.
but even though it was pretty unusual, i thought that it was one of the best movies i have seen all year.
WALL E is a robot that was sent to earth, along with thousands more of its kind to clean up, so it can make earth habitable again. but after beng the last robot left of its kind, it has developed more of a human nature, and now, whilst cleaning, collects objects that take his interest. you feel bad for WALL E as it becomes clear that he is lonely, and his only friend is a cockroach. but eventually another spaceship lands, and a more sophisticated robot is deployed, scanning the surrounding area for any sign of earth being sustainable again.
WALL E immediately falls in love with this new and probably girl robot(though WALL E's sex is undefined). soon though, the new robot called Eve finds a plant and immediately sends a beacon back to the mothership, where it is shown that all of mankind lives on, in space.
WALL E is desperate to remain with eve so sneaks aboard the shuttle that is taking eve to the mothership.
human life on the mothership is a scary future. with everyone being served by robots, no one can walk cos they are all so fat and just zoom around on thier little hover things all the time.
the captain of the ship soon finds a conspiracy to keep the ship off earth, but after a courageous battle, he soon steers the ship back to earth.
although all the robot action is cool, it was nice to have a bit of dialogue between humans, as WALL E saying "eve" was cute at first, but got annoying very quickly.
it is unusual to see a love story between robots but it was still very moving.
the future of man kind on the other hand is a very scary picture. this was pixar's most outgoing film yet, and they have portrayed a powerful message. it is good to see that they made a film about this issue, so the kids growing up today might be able to get a better picture on stuff like global warming.
overall i would say that WALL E is one of the best movies i have seen all year.
it covers issues that really need to be covered, and is outgoing, and delivers a powerful message.

Step Brothers

Everyone knows that all the funny bits of movies are always shown in the trailers. but the good thing about Step Brothers was that there was so much funny shit in there that the movie completely took me by surprise.
After hearing that Tropic thunder was the bomb (which i thought was subsequently a bit overrated) i went into SB with no expectations. me and night hawk were talking about it before hand and both agreed that ignoring any hype would be the best way to go about it.

will ferrell plays the part of brennan, a part that he was pretty much made for. if i had heard the plot for this movie, i would have cast will ferrell in a heartbeat. and john c reilly was equally as hilarious as dale. having not seen Dewey cox story with john c reilly in it, i didnt know what his comic talents were but he is in the same mould as ferrell.
after both having recent movies that were supposedly not up to thier usual genius (semi pro and dewey cox) it was good to see two kings of comedy return to thier thrown.
there were countless lines that, living with tom and cal, i know im gunna be hearing a lot of in the next few weeks. me and thomas even got inspiration for our code names on this blog off SB when at the start they are introduced:
"hey... im brennan..."
"hey... im dale... you can call me Dragon..."
"well you can call me night hawk..."
There was also some area where other comedies have not gone before, like when they both go to the local primary school and beat up a bunch of 12 year old kids.
at stages it got a bit crude like when you get to see extensive coverage of brennan(ferrell) rubbing his ballsack on dales drumkit, but this was still funny.

But in the end, the seesaw-ing relationship between dale and brennan, the ridiculously good looking mother of a 40 year old, and the insane younger brother with his cheating erotica wife, all make for a good viewing.

Brocky AKA Dragon

Hello and welcome to "Flicks, Facts and Fuck off".
for those who all know night hawk(thomas), they can tell that the title was his idea as something random like that is right up his alley.
me and night hawk both love movies and whilst over in new zealand we have seen a fair share of them. so i suggested the idea of a movie blog to him and he was keen, so we set one up straight away.
we have decided to blog about all the movies we see, and rate them accordingly. we will also just post random shit about movies and films, pretty much anything that we feel like doing.
if anyone wants to be a guest editor, let me know as it will make the blog better with lots of different opinions. and if you do join, you can just write the occasional review if you like.
we will also be putting on random shit like polls and trivia and stuff like that, so it should be good.
please leave as many comments as you like, if you think we've made a mistake, or wanna share your own opinion.
Thats all for now,
peace
Brocky AKA Dragon
