the wild things
based on a childrens book, this movie puts you in the shoes of a young boy whos imagination runs wild. this imagination is unique and through some family problems max (the main character) runs away from home and spends th night in his imaginary world, to escape the one he was already in. every child does this and so the movie sends every adult or teenager a message: that we were all children once, with imaginations just liek this. and that its good to escape for a while fromt he present. but...that doin so never solves any problems cause u always turn up right were you started.
max's adventureous experience take shim to a completely new world full of strange and enormous creatures...however his new world is a dipiction of the world he just escaped from...same problems, different people/ creatures...he tries to sort out these problems in the new world but ends up makign things worse. so he says sorry and leaves it for his newly found freinds/ family to work it out for themselves.
he returns home.
and is happy.
for now...
but whenever he feels lonely or sad again..he knows his friends will be waiting for him.

AVATAR
director, writer and producer of titanic, terminator, terminator 2, and aliens.
and now Avatar.
duration: 2 hrs 55mins
acting cast: sam worthington (terminator salvation, bootmen, and hart's war)
zoe saldana (the terminal, star trek)
sigourney weaver (alien, aliens, vantage point, holes, ghost busters, galaxy quest)
giovanni ribisi (gone in 60 seconds, sky captain and the world of tomorrow,
saving private ryan)
stephen lang, michelle rodriguez, joel moore, wes studi, laz alonso
the story of avatar: jake sully, an ex marine (paraplegic) is shipped off to a remote and hostile planet called pandora. on this planet are an indigenous race called the Na'vi, who are twice the height of a human with blue skin. these religious and warrior type humanoids are being driven out of their home by the humans, as a precious metal is only located on pandora.
jake sully is initiated into the avatar program where his genes are fused with the genes of the na'vi to create an entirely new being that can be remotely controlled by the human through mental thought and expensive mindlink machines/ capsules. the purpose of the avatar program is to socialise with the local people (the omatica'ya people) and make bonds of friendship and offer them medicine, food, etc. however, through a string of unforseen events jake is seperated with his research crew and left in the jungle of pandora to fight for himself. this is when he meets neytiri (the daughter of the chief of the omatica'ya people). she saves him from certain death and brings him into her home to meet her family.
neytiri teaches jake the ways of the omatica'ya, how to shoot a bow and arrow, to hunt, and speak the language of the na'vi. after three months jake becomes one of the people, he becomes a man and falls in love with neytiri, the forrest and the people. but when the miners reach a sacred spot jake is enraged and retaliates against his own people.
his general locks him up and cuts off all his avatar work so that jake cant warn the omatica'ya people of the impending doom. the humans are going to destroy home tree.
this act creates a rift between jake and neytiri, so he breaks out of prison and finds an isolated spot to access his avatar and protect the na'vi from the human siege.
this is probably a lame depiction of the plot. but i dont care.
i love this movie.
i officially claim this movie as my number one of all time!
because of the story, the original characters, the amazing landscape and creatures and the amazing graphics. it is an epic movie of infinite proportions...i literally dont think a movie will match avatar for years to come. not for its detail or shear amazingness...

new moon
but the rest of the movie was pretty awesome
the soundtrack to twilight was amazing and this new moon soundy was just as good. props to the man/ woman in charge! :)
the movie was made pretty much like the book, new moon being th least interesting book in th series the director made it pretty good.
big plus of this movie = jacob black
he has the best looking abs in the world! also his arms are pretty buff!
the graphics for the wolves were pretty sick aswell...and the volturi were well portrayed aswell i think...we will have to wait and see how they go in th fourth film...which i cant wait for! :)
anyway new moon was pretty good all in all...apart from those few scenes

the imaginarium
heath ledgers last movie (uncompleted last movie)
johnny depp, jude law and colin farrel stepped in to fulfill his final work of art
however!
it wasnt as glorious as i thought it was going to be...
directed by the holy grail, meaning of life, life of brians terry gilliam i was expecting this movie to be funny, fast paced and exciting...however slow scenes turned into boring scenes with not so compeling actors...until heath is brought into th story it is uninteresting...but even the legendary heath ledger cannot make an average movie a master piece and so some of his acting seemed sereal and unrealisticly dramatic or strange...this whole movie is strange...
its saving grace to make heaths last movie not such a tragedy lays in the hands of the actual story, the special effects and imaginary worlds that terry gilliam has created for the characters in the story to travel upon! like your own personal yellow brick road...filled with your hearts desires and wonders, interests and secrets.
you leave the cinema expecting to wake up from one of yuor own dreams...and u see real life people walking and drinking coffee and buying clothes and you wonder just when this ugly, dull dream will end and turn back into the colourful and exotic dream of the imaginarium of doctor parnassus!

WHIP IT
A directorial debut from co-star drew Barrymore more then sets the scene with quirky scenes and hilarious acting. Barrymore catches every detail of emotion in her actress' and actor's from joy to sorrow which makes the audience bond with Ellen page's character Bliss cavander, Alia shawkat's character Pash, and Marcia gay hardens character Brooke cavander.
roller derby is a full contact sport where pushing, punching, scratching, and tripping are all part of the strategy to win points for your team. team with the most points win.
well known music for this movie makes it feel more suitable for the rebellious 14-19 year old girl or boy.
personal opinion...i love Ellen page, she is one of the best young actors of today's day and age. whoever votes against that is obviously a fool! the movie is a winner in my books and i will definitely be buying it. drew Barrymore's first time as director was a great success and with her style and attitude the movie was fun to watch and most people would be hard put to say it was bad!

surrogates
starring a host of well known faces.
including bruce willis (die hard), ving rhames (pulp fiction), and radha mitchell (pitch black)
the movie. based on a world where people are hooked into surrogates (advanced robots, strong, fast, and beautiful).
most of america were now using th system created for protecting the human race from disease and crime!
the founder, a disabled scientist going on 60+ years created the surrogates to make people like him walk again, make blind people see what their human eyes did not!
it was succesful, until the son of the creator of surrogates was killed, even though he was connected to his surrogate. something vsi (largest manufacturer of surrogates) said was impossible.
fbi agent tom greer (bruce willis) was called in to investigate the case. him and his partner detective peters (radha mitchell) collected info on both victims of this deadly attack.
this hi-tech and advanced weapon was made by the u.s. army for combat situations, but when the OD (overload device) was discovered to kill even the surrogates host the project was scrapped! however it seems that one such weapon was leaked into the hands of the non-surrogate world. humans that hate robots and want them all destroyed, fearing that it was inhuman to live through a machine. literally fat old guys could own surrogates tht looked like 20 year old woman. this was viewed by the non-surrogate population as an abomination to mankind.
the movie is one awesome ride through a futuristic world rivaled only with the likes of minority report, i robot, and the matrix.
"how long has it been since you were out of your surrogate?"
"i cant remember!!!"

district 9
i thought it was going to be good...but it turned out to be awesome! haha
aliens!
guns!
spaceships!
and more importantly SEQUEL! hahaha yeah boi!
cannot wait for tht! fingers crossed its as good as the first one...fingers crossed there will be a second one at all really because the director of district 9 also directed cloverfield which was a one of thriller of sorts that had everyone wanting to know more! it gives a new meaning to suspense! when u cant even find out an explination to half th questions you want!
anyway back to district 9...this movie really gets the audience to feel the main characters emotions and situation. you WANT him to succeed, i dont normally feel tht way in movies...i never get fully attached to characters. esspecially not in sci-fi thrillers...its not a normal way of directing those kind of movies...but it was pulled off in this movie!
so im giving it the thumbs up for special effects and storyline!
"what the fuck are you doin to these prawns man!?

inglorious basterds
inglorious basterds was an incredible movie to watch...the story and cinematography was excellent...the acting was top notch and quentin never dissapoints us...his movies always have a "cool" aspect to them...like th fact tht one of the "bastards" has his own colourful and dramatic moving title when he is introduced into the movie! haha montage to killing spree th whole lot! haha loved it!
brad pitt leads the movie along with some already famous faces from past tarrantino movies! which is also a tribute to how he writes and casts his movies!
gun battles...hilarious monologues and unforgettable characters give this movie a spark. the intro sets th audience back into the familiar scene of movies like resevoir dogs, death proof and pulp fiction. where a slow moving but interesting scene plays out in front of us which always leads to a climatic ending to the "prologue" of his films!
a dash of gore and brutality is inflicted upon the nazi's in this movie...which is a known trait to tarrantino movies! and when used affectively continually gathers fans and critics to his side of movie making.
i was loving this movie even before the candy bar adds came on. mainly cause i worship quentin and mainly cause brad pitt was acting in the movie! :)
i hope you enjoy it too

harry potter and the half-blood prince
and it was good. probably better then th last 5 movies for a few reasons:
1-the actors (esppecially harry) are better at acting! like way better.
2-it had dark elements to it which i liked (cave scene)
3-ron is funny as
4-malfoy is included into this film a lot more, for the good of the movie
some downers tho...being a book lover is all th scenes they had to cut out of the movie...including half of the dumbledore and harry adventures into the pensieve :( oh well...at first i also thought slughorn was a bit of a retard...his acting wasnt so good...but he got a bit better as th movie went on...still a wierdo. but better. dumbledores hand didnt look as cool as i thought it would...they CGI'D the crap out of it instead of making it all skeletal looking like its supposed to. oh well again.
ginny is finaly a bit of a babe! and hermione and ron's relationship is building for the next two films where they kiss in hogwarts! oooooh! i think half the harry potter fans will be waiting out for tht scene and be like! "YAY! THEY FINALLY KISSED/SNOGGED!" haha should be good
some of the graphics were awesome. as to be expected...
they also added in scenes tht werent even in the book. eg bellatrix and fenrir dont even go to the weasleys residence in the book. but apparently they do in the movie! idk...
one other dissapointment was tht there was no order of the pheonix fight in the castle after snape kills dumbledore...:( sad for you!
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince rated: 3/5
