now, brought back to the digital frontier in spectacular fashion and definition. u can visit and sit in awe at the amazing world of kevin flynn's TRON.

15 years after the dissapearance of Sam Flynn's father, kevin Flynn, CEO of EMCOM, the largest video and computer technology company on the planet, (in their universe), Sam find himself on his fathers trail right before he dissapeared...

down to the arcade, and sam finds a secret basement room, where his father used to work.

he accidentally stumbles into the digital world of tron!

sam is introduced to his father world, when he enters the grid, and battles in the disc wars, and lightcycle arena...

ultimately the movie boils down to a race to get to the real world before the portal closes and traps sam and his dad down in the grid forever.

a rollercoster ride to the very end!

skyline, is a new release movie int he cinema's that offers a thrilling ride to some viewers. to say this movie had a mediocre plot would be goign too far...thrillers that dont go anywhere, and dont offer the audience any suprises, are not worth watchign in the cinema.

yes it had some design opportunites for the special effects and computer graphic point of view. but little else contributed to this movies rating.

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows part 1

the penultimate film instalment into one of the highest grossing book series of all time...this highly anticipated thriller, drama about the boy who lived and his quest to defeat evil.

harry potter, hermione granger, and ron weasley travel across england trying to find the ever elusive horcruxes. these magical objects hold inside them a portion of voldemorts soul, and without destroying these first, harry has no chance of defeating him.

the best thing about the last novel being split into two, is the detail the director can go into, to encapture the whole book, because this book is the most enthralling of them all, the conclusion to everything! it needs to be amazing. and part 1, lived up to the expectations millions of people have layed upon it.

there were very few negatives people could pick at for this movie.

lets just hope the next movie also delivers, and delivers well.
cya next year (sigh) for part 2.

this cast draws almost every crowd, with humour, action, and drama mixed with a fun plot and great directing...

this quirky film delivered for me, with explosive scenes, shoot outs and assasination plots.

frank moses (bruce willis), a retired ex-CIA veteran has been labeled RED, along with his colleagues in Joe (morgan freeman), Marvin (john malkovich), and Victoria (helen mirren), frank moses protects a girl that he is in love with, sarah (mary-louise Parker), they travel across USA trying to unravel the mystery behind their attempted murders.

tomorrow when the war began

the adapted film from the first installment of john marsden classic story of teenagers trapped in a war they cannot escape.

ellie and corrie, two best friends from a small town called wirrawee are keen for an adventure in the outback, their natural environment, their home.

they invite 5 friends to camp out under the stars with them, Lee, Kevin, Homer, Fi, and Robyn...alogn the way they also pick up chris...however they loose kevin and corrie, as corrie is shot at then end of the movie and kevin takes her to a hospital. lee also gets shot in the calf, but recovers eventually.

they blow up a bridge with a petrol transport truck, which impedes the invading army from sendign troops from cobblers bay to the nearby area's, a big blow against their army's effieciency and resupplying capabilities.

overall they picked pretty good actors to portray each character in the movie. so two thumbs up for tht effort...

the movie is quirky and dramatic, action packed and a well made australian movie

Angelina Jolie...one of todays super actresses...is back at the action/ thriller blockbuster stuff!
and i love it!
in SALT she brings a new meaning to cia agent/secret russian opperative planted into american society at a very young age.
her character is an explosive, and gritty version of james bond...james bond shoots, kicks and punches...well evelyn salt does all those things.... and more!

the movie has a good story line, which makes it predictable in some spots...but also unpredictable in others...overall it is a fun and entertaining ride for all those lara croft lovers out there!

a quirky movie about a normal american citizen that is entangled in the life of a secret agent, where after many heroic rescues and stunts, leads the normal citizen, june (cameron diaz), to fall in love with the secret agent, roy (tom cruise)...a movie about war lords that try to get their hands on a new energy, a renewable energy in the form of a battery that can power a small city...the film is mainly about the relationship between june and roy though.

filled with realistic and awesome action and stunts this movie is very watchable with the family, aged 14+

This epic Action, Thriller, Drama, Science Fiction is but one of Christopher Nolans triumphs in The film making business...he personally wrote and directed this captivating piece.

the extent and complexity of the movie is something peole can sit up all night and talk about, a directing masterpiece, with cutting edge cinematography and performances from all actors/ actresses in the movie make christophers latest effort one to enjoy for infinity.

He opens up the world of the dream, and through his character Cobb, played by Leo, he pushes the boundaries of impossible, with a life changing character piece provided by DiCaprio, this movie is the definition of Perfect.

I thouroughly enjoyed the 2 and a half hour ride and would stress to everyone over 16yrs old to watch Inception.

considering the original karate kid was one of th emost iconic movies ever made, this new version should not have been made...

even with the involvment of jackie chan, this movie still didnt fulfill the demands set by the original.

jaden smith, will smith's son, played the role of the young boy. he actually didnt do a bad job. the only thing that let him down was the script. it was filled with soppy romance and very little actual fighting, althought there was a bit of comedy throughout the film, which may appeal to the audience, it still felt like it was about 3/4 romance/boring filler, and 1/4 comedy/training, and a non-existent end fight scene, which was meant to be what the whole movie was about...

this movie took up an entire 2hrs 20 mins of my time, with maybe 10 minutes of actual fighting, and another 30 of training scenes.

all in all, there were some moments that were good to watch.

ECLIPSE

so...the third edition to the popular four book series stephanie millen wrote of love, eternal life, vampires and werewolves.

the thrilling tale started with Twilight, then continued into New Moon, the penultimate story of Eclipse follows our beloved characters of edward, bella and jacob, where true love shines through in the face of adversity. this movie is filled with action, comedy and mystery. the love bella has bottled up inside her for jacob is finaly drawn out. however it is not enough to keep her away from her one true love, Edward. jacob tries hard to persuade edward to let bella go, but the end result was never in doubt. bella agrees to marry edward. during all this a new band of vampires is created by victoria, who still thirsts for revenge after her partner, james, was killed in Twilight. through victorias ne born puppet riley she is able to create a force to large for the cullen family to hold off...an alliance is formed between the cullens and the werewolves, as this new born terror threatens there very existence.

the movie was, in my mind not as epic as stephanie invisioned in her book, however it was a bold attempt by the director.

this story follows a young, funny but fat music assistant. where he is given then job of chaperoning a rock legend by the name of aldous snow...this alcohol adicted sex fiend insnares his chaperone and gets him drunk as they tour the countryside doing interviews and talk shows until they eventually get to manhattan to play at The greek. a famous and prestigious arena where aldous snow plays for his fans to reignite the flame and path of his music career.

a funny and wild ride is to be expected...a film that i didnt have particularly have any faith in, turned out to be not so bad with some surprising and funny scenes. enjoy

the final installment to toy story, to woody, to buzz and all th crazy, quirky and funny characters that we all know and love.

the story line

andy is all grown up and movign away to college...he has to either throw away his toys or put them in storage...as in the first two editions of toy story the toys get into situations where one thing leads to another...so buckle your seat belts for the last ride u will ever have with woody and buzz and the crew...cause it is a good one! filled with humour and drama, action and sad goodbyes...

this movie nearly brought me to tears in one part...it also made me LOL every 30 seconds!

so enjoy this, as i did...

PRINCE OF PERSIA

Prince of persia, dastan (jake gyllenhale) is an orphan prince chosen by the persian king from the streets and taken in as his son.
living with his two brothers he trains and fights as a warrior of the persian army.

Their target is the great city of Alamat, where the sands of time are fabled to be buried beneath the city trapped in a great crystal glass.
Prince Dastan gets his hands on the mystical dagger which can reverse time.
He uses this to his benefit a few times during his quest to return the dagger.

With the murder of his father wrongfully put upon his head Dastan fleas Alamat with the Princess of the city, who is the protector of the dagger.
Chased by his brother, and foes called the Hassasin, Prince Dastan creeps into the city accompanied by some loyal friends he makes during his journey outside of Alamat.

The prince, a feared and extremely fit warrior scales walls, climbs buildings and jumps off roof tops to escape capture throughout the movie.

He eventually reverses time before his fathers death, and rewrites his life by unmasking his fathers killer.

book of eli

The Book of Eli is a wondeful film delivered at a time in history where maybe special effects movies are earnign more in the box office...this movie is a blend of great character piece's, original but thrilling storyline and some comical but serious violence...

With Denzel Washington playing the main character Eli, a man who has for the last 30 years (since the nuclear war) been traveling west on a mission that he says is from his saviour, god. His mission of course is to protect a book, but this isnt just any book. This book has th power to change lives. A book which Gary Oldman's character Carnegie knows will alter history, again. Accompanied by mila kunis as Solara, a young girl that is determined to escape the life she is living. her mother, Claudia, a blind but beautiful woman is bound to Carnegie because of her eyesight, tries to create a better future for her daughter.

Eli encounters a few obstacles on his way west, where he says his path will be end and his mission be completed.

I wont give away the twist at the end...i didnt even see it coming and im a movie whizz!

best bit of whole movie is tony creating a new element that doesnt kill him lik his plutonium chest plate did...a new element that is infitinely more powerful and cleaner source of energy.

CLASH OF THE TITANS

SAM WORTHINGTON has made a massive impact on hollywood in 2009/2010, with three big blockbusters all in a row! terminator salvation acting alongside of christian bale (batman). Avatar as the lead role of jake sully (a movie that has broken all box office records thanks to visionary and genius james cameron). Clash of the Titans, a remake of the 1981's version. Directed by louis leterrier (unleashed/ danny the dog, transporter 2, the incredible hulk).

The movie follows the trials and tribulations of demi God called perseus (sam worthington), who is the son of the almighty God Zeus(liam neeson), father of all humans on earth. Hades, god of the underwold has a plan to overthrow his brother Zeus and take the seat of power in the heavens, he does this by unleashing the kracken! a monster so evil and powerful it defeated the TITANS, the fathers of Zeus, Hades and Poisedon. Hades creation is released upon a city of humans that have cursed the gods, a series of events and fate draw perseus with a few warriors where their quest takes them across dangerous paths and into the pits of medusa's lare!

The movie has lots of action and the only place it lets the audience down is th graphics, although they are top notch the massive scale of the movie perhaps used too much graphics. Everything else was pretty good though. Superb visualisation and scenery of an early earth where it was Man vs. Gods!

Hot Tub Time Machine

plot:
four dudes, old mates from high school, grow apart and their lives are somewhat fallign apart, mainly as a cause of their nuerotic and flamboyant companion Lou, who has had a failed marriage and is now an alcoholic. the friends get together and organise a trip down memory lane at an old ski hotel in the mountains were back in the day wild parties, chicks and alcohol, music and cocaine was the way to go...they get drunk and end up traveling back in time because of an illegal drink Lou had in his possesion. and yes, you guessed it...they were in the hot tub. the illegal drink had a chemical in it which got spilt on the tubs electrical wiring and they ended up in the morning, instead of in 2010, back in 1986!

they are torn between doing the exact same things so their futures arent altered, but Lou is determined to stay in the past again and rewrite history so he and his friends have an awesome future...a whole sequence of gags and funny scenes bring the movie forward and it ends up being a fun filled journey in retro clothes, back int he days when michael jackson was black

although disney have branched out to movies such as "high school musical" and "pirates of the carribean" they still remain one of the oldest and most accomplished film franchise on earth...and tht doesnt happen by making shit movies!

the movie potrays sherlock holmes and dr. john watson as realistic crime fighters...simialr to batman and robin without all th disguises and stunts that make blockbuster action heroes look extremely talented and strong, etc...

sherlock holmes isnt some super hero...but he is an insanely good detective, fighter and analyst of sorts...i dont know the history behind the man but in the movie he comes across as a man that has an unlimited degree of intelligence (perhaps a photographic memory) and a perspective of his fellow man that is quite futuristc for his day and age of an industrial dated englishman.

events of the movie start from november 19th, 1891 which make my previous comment relevant as in the movie the london bridge was being constructed, which also means that england was very industrial at the time.

watson and holmes were a very heroic, but heroism does takwe it toll. liek batman sherlock and holmes did things their own way. therefore were taken into custody for interfering with investigations run by the police...

new inventions started to come into effect in this movie, such as the reference of the deadly weapon that is triggered via remote (aka radio waves).

science and alchemy coem into this movie more then i thought it would, however, it doesnt dissapoint or slow down th movie. rather makes the twists in the movie more complex, which in turn adds intrigue and which again makes the movie a good one...

i conclude by sayign tht i really enjoyed this movie, robert downey jn. and jude law are in their prime with no hint of slowing down.

this movie, a classic childrens story made into a hilarious comedy about a fox and his family and the woes he gets them into...a movie made in miniature with puppets makes the story feel childish and draws in that target audience, but the humour also reaches out for the mature adult in every 19+ person!

i quite liked it, with george clooney as the lead characters voice, it was quite an escape from his usual movies and it made me see him in a different but still fascinating light.

followed but a whole list of celebrity voices that are always involved in the wes anderson signature of movies, it creates a warm and funny atmosphere and an enjoyable cinema experience! :)
