seven pounds

WILL SMITH

he is amazing

brock left me the job to annalize this movie, and tht i hopefully will do for all the people tht read ths blog (not many)

this movie

some critics could say, is only good because of who acted in it...i say BULLSHIT ON THAT

sure will smith, rosario dawson, woody harrelson, barry pepper and a few unkown but excellent actors made this film what it is...but every movie is like tht...some people were just made to act, and act in this movie...

they all did an amazing job

the plot, starts out complex and mysterious, all the time the audience is trying to fill in the blanks left out deliberately so as not to spoil the dramatic ending to such a magnificent drama and love story.

tim thomas killed 7 people in a car collision, one of those 7 was his wife.

ever since tht crash, he has been donating organs for worthy recipients all over the counrty...he donated a lung for his brother, a portion of his liver for a childcare service worker. and as the movie unravels, he reaches out to a blind salesmen, a kid with a bone marrow disorder, a man in need of a kidney, he helps a woman and her two children from being bashed by a drunk boyfriend, by giving them a new house and new life. he also helps a woman. a woman who's heart is too weak to pump blood, some of the time, to her brain.

one thing tim didnt count on, was falling in love.

these lucky people werent picked randomly off the street tho. he chose them, because they were worthy of such help. as you find out, he gives generously to those in need. and not so generously to those unworthy. he cares about people because he has the power to change their lives forever.

well directed and written.

big thumbs up for me

The Spirit

firstly...you have to take into account tht this movie WAS directed by Frank Miller...the writer and director of sin city...

so those fans out there tht love his shizzle...u will love this too...

and iv got to say....im a fan....fo sho :)

THE SPIRIT is ever bit enticing as sin city, with its mainstream actors including

samuel jackson, scarlett johansson, eva mendes, gabriel macht, jaime king, louis lombardi etc

firstly, the cinematography is amazing to watch, just like sin city it follows the dark and mysterious hero/ villian type look, occasionally grasping the affective red (the spirit's tie) and also blue. With an old 1950's time plot within a parallel universe known as central city (aka new york) this film is bound to opperate in the audiences impression of america in the great depression.

our hero, an ex-cop, lives underground with his beloved stray cats, he wears a mask to cover the face tht died years before, and his black hat, black suit, red tie and white shoes make him a distinct and likeable character. along with his hilarious anticts with a villian named octopus (samuel jackson) the spirit (gabriel macht) attracts every woman he meets, and him to them.

"You're in love with every women you meet, Mr.Spirit. You say lovely things to all of us, and you mean every word you say"

after being shot and killed on the job, a doctor (and expremintal scientist with a god complex and overall wish to be immortal) the octopus injects the spirit with a potion (as a trial for himself) that makes him practically immortal, or the closest thing to it.

a few murders into the movie, sand saref (eva mendes) a gorgeous woman and teen sweet heart of the spirit entwines herself deeply in the plot, by stealing a chest containing the contents of which the octopus would do anythign to get his hands on.

the story ends with a massive shoot up between the spirit, the octopus and known associates (silken floss aka scarlett johansson), sand saref and the cops and basicallly you will have to watch it to know what happens, and what the treasure cheast(s) (yes, thts right, its a plural) contain...

:) enjoy

17 Again

Zac Efron... My man crush.
The man that every adolescant girl (and some boys) go crazy about is the only thing that saves this 'should've been straight to dvd' movie.
Zac Efron stars in what could be described as asymmetrical to what Jennifer Garner did in 'Suddenly 30'.
He doesnt sing, but his charisma and charm save this film and were worth the $9.50 i spent last cheap tuesday.
Realising that he has lived his life moping about missed opportunities and his flailing relationship with his children, he stumbles across the stereotypical 'wise old janitor' who has some sort of secret power that turns him, as you would have guessed, into a 17 year old again.
What follows is nothing new: some bully upstaging, some incestuall love, and of course, when he gets to the cross road in his senior year again, he realises that he made the right decision all along, and he should be embracing it.
The thing that irks me the most is that Zac's character doesnt even try to fit in, giving a highly unlikely, unmotivating, and unentertaining rant on the kids of todays generation having premarital sex.
There are a few good tidbits here and there though. A small penis joke, as well as the 'stand in fake dad's' obsession with sci-fi and all the memorabillia he possesses in his house were enough for a silent giggle/smirk.

All up though, Zac Efron and his undeniable talent save this from being tossed in post production, as it provides little else besides some gay eye candy as you relish the pre-pubescnt girl inside of you.
