fight club

The day started out as everyday does.
5:30am and NOT wanting to get up at all!!!
Little did i know, kelly and kenton were going to have a mini fight today at work!
thats right everyone, yours eyes dont deceive you. kelly duthie actually had a fight! which pretty much makes it one more than ALL of the lambda boys have had! nice work kel :)

"kelly through the first punch" said our correspondent thomas mcmulkin, who was the only other witness to the actual incident!
"They had an argument in the truck as we were pulling up to the place we were working, and things pretty much went down hill from there".
So how did this work brawl come about in the first place you may ask? well there is an answer and a simple one! but to tell you more about why tempers were raised, which lead to the instant and exciting yet amateur fight the two youngsters had, we will have to go back a year or so. Back to when kelly first meet the kenton (or what thomas likes to call him "k-rudd")

The story which was going to be an infinity of pages long, basically says that kelly disliked k-rudd for a while!
So a few snippets like "I'v been wanting to do that for so long" and "I'm over it" from before and after the smish might emphasis the electric relationship the two involved had!

the fight which im not going into much detail over the rather insecure internet was fairly scrapy with only a handful of punches thrown from each of the competitors and ample wrestling involved!
but after what thomas, our on the scene correspondent, would call a 2 minute no rules footy match, the fight brock up and a mutual agreement was struck between the two, as tom was giving them BOTH a lift home from bunbury!

for more details please go to www.17jensenway.com.au or www.somewhereincapel.com.au where u will find a recount of most of the fight available at request!

thank you and goodnight!

The Troy and Gabriella show!

HSM3:SY

first off the bat, i MUST say, I'M A BIG FAN ALREADY! ha ha
loved it, it had the feel of the high school musical franchise that we all love, and they certainly created a sense of this really being the last movie in the trilogy! good stuff Kenny Ortega (director)

OK down to business!
troy = heart throb, if i wasn't gay, he would be all mine, after brad Pitt of course, and heath ledger.
Gabriella = a big girl, who is a Riga-dig-dig, with a big voice!
chad = black, and shit at basketball, its very cliche' with the stereotype but still Troy's best bud!
Taylor = like everyone of the cast except maybe Ryan, she and chad and Kelsi and Zeke and Jason and Sharpay all had layed-back roles and were there more to fill in the dance floor and offer opinions.
ryan = pretty much my second favourite dude on the film, wears some sick clothing and is the choreographer for the "spring musical" of theirs!
Sharpay = surprisingly gave up on troy in this movie, although she never did get over never sharing the spotlight with him on stage, is may hotter in this movie, and just like everyone else, got older and better at acting as they went through 1 & 2, to finish as pro's in #3.
Kelsi = my favourite chick character, heaps babed out! and the coolest band person you will ever meet / see on screen :D
Jason and Zeke = not in the movie much, its more the troy and Gabriella show as i said, but that's OK cause they do it good! as you already may have found out!
Rocketman and Sharpay's assistant = new characters added the sense that these people were being left in charge of the school as the seniors moved on to bigger and better things! Rocketman is funny, and the assistant is in the mold of Sharpay in her earlier years, conspiring and what-not.

Songs = great, little bit of everything, some sad ones, some funny ones, some serious ones and some fucking awesome ones! great to listen to and get involved in while watching (cannot wait to learn the lyrics)

Music = a little too loud in some songs, as you were trying to listen to the characters lyrics which were being drowned out by guitar riffs and drums. its a little hard to catch the meanings of the songs and where they r taking you if ya cant hear troy scream about how hard he has it, and about how hard Gabriella thinks Troy's penis is :D

Dancing = as always, new, exciting and inventive choreography, with some hints of HSM 1 & 2 to make sure you know where they r coming from. this time round they went for the BIG, BIGGER, BIGGEST scenes possible, to great affect, to make sure the audience isn't disappointed when they leave the cinema!

Storyline = unexpected, which leaves you thinking "where is this taking me?" and "whats gonna happen next?". its always nice to see a film that isn't predictable to the last scene! they really emphasis the "senior year" part of High School Musical 3.

last of all my rating
High School Musical 3: Senior Year rated - 3.5/5

Brock is right they did make some bits way to corny, but in other ways it was a nice change.

"so once they hand us that diploma, we're actually done here!?"
"what makes you think we're getting diploma's?"

High School Musical 3: Senior Year

On sunday i went and saw HSM3 with Karen and Night Hawk, and kelly and morgan were there too.
I have to say, that cos im a fan, i was totally into it the whole time and had a massive smile on my face throughtout the whole thing.
but from a critical point of view i dont think it shaped up too the previous too films.
First of all, and one of the most annoying things was the fact that during every song, the music was actually louder than the singing. this meant it was hard to understand some of the lyrics, but whether this was just because it was in the cinema or cos it was badly made, will be hard to tell until it comes out on dvd(which i will be buying).
i was also annoyed because i think it lost some of its quirkiness and edginess, although this was covered up by the introduction of a new character, who thought he was the second coming of Troy Bolton. This character did have his moments, but made me think that he was just introduced for the chance to cash in on a possible spin-off, or another sequel. In the second high school musical, new characters were not introduced, but the the roles of backup characters were increased. i wish this was the case for HSM3, because there are a few (like Zeke, Kelsy and Jason) that could have played a larger role.
i also believe that HSM3 grew to an all time level of cheesiness. It surprised me how someone could make a movie about teenage issues, and stick a G rating to. Though the director does his best to make it happen, i still feel that not many people would be able to relate to the issues involved. Kids that the film is normally targeted at would not get the whole college thing, especially ones from Australia. And teenagers who understand the whole going to college thing would probably feel that a whole lot of stuff is missed out.
i think the HSM franchise should have ended at the end of school, and just glazed over the college scenario.
It also annoyed me(though i doubt anyone else) that it is clear that Corbin Bleau is the biggest kook at basketball ever. his character is meant to be recieving a scholarship at UA to play ball, yet you see his character make a layup in one of the final scenes and it is blatantly obvious that he has never picked up a ball in his life, before HSM.

But besides all this, the few minor things i disliked were greatly outweighed by the things i did like.
many of the songs were catchy (ask tom who started singing one in the middle of the cinema after knowing it from the preview) and the dance routines were spectacular as usual.

there was even one song, that sharpay was singing, where the characters were all in a hypothetical stage world where Troy was a love-sick sharpay fan, Chad a policeman and Kelsy a taxi driver. This was one of the highlights of all 3 movies, and was really cleverly put together.

It will be hard to tell if this HSM will live up to the others, because it is the sort of movie that you enjoy more once you know the songs well enough too sing to.

Hopefully its out on DVD by christmas!
